For Bos, his biggest 'buzz' is being able to gift his art to someone as a special article those going through hard times or special gifts for weddings and birthdays. He also loves it when he goes to peoples homes and see's the work prominently displayed, this is a very humbling and rewarding experience.

Bos's first three pieces of art. The middle one was the original crayfish, the other crayfish was for done for a friend's 50th and the John Dory was the first official sale.

ABOUT BOS

An original Westie, the butcher's son from Green Bay, Bos surprised even his own mother when he started to show his artistic talent (albeit late in life).

It began when his wife, Carolyn, came home with a piece of outdoor art she'd paid a considerable sum for. Bos, unimpressed, said he could do better.

When he presented her with a beautiful copper crayfish shortly after, she was so impressed it still takes pride of place in the living room.

Carolyn and Bos have been married for over 30 years and have a son Wade and a daughter Elise. His love of the outdoors inspires his art particularly fishing, hunting, shooting, surfing and diving.
By day Bos is the owner/ operater of Lake Security Ltd, a small security and emergency response unit looking after private properties and their owners at Lake Tarawera. He's also involved in all emergency and essential services to the area. He's been involved in the Lake Tarawera Rural Fire Unit for 32 years and has been Fire Chief for 20 years. Other positions in the community include Fish and Game Ranger, Lake Warden, Search and Rescue, Justice of the Peace and a member of the emergency response medical team.

Bos Art now has a global reach with works finding homes in Asia, UK, USA, Germany, Australia and Fiji. In New Zealand pieces are as far south as Stewart Island and north of Whangarei.

Repeat business is big part of the work, one client has 9 pieces and a 10th on the way.

What Bos Art Clients Are Saying

"If you want a totally unique gift for someone special or a piece of art for your home that will stand out, Bos is the man to talk to. The delicate work that is produced from such a tough material, copper, is mindblowing. We have three pieces in our home; a trout, a turtle and a sculpture of Mt Tarawera." Claire Stewart - 2018
